About TinkerLayer
Hi, I’m Jon
I’m the designer, printer, and proud whippet owner behind TinkerLayer. Based in Oshawa, Ontario, I create original 3D-printed designs inspired by sighthounds and more.
Where It Started
TinkerLayer began as a personal project that combined my interest in 3D printing with my appreciation for sighthounds. What started with a few dog-themed models has grown into a lineup of sculptures, accessories, and custom work for individuals and small businesses.
Original Designs, Printed In-House
Every model is designed from scratch. I sculpt and refine each one digitally, paying attention to posture, proportion, and personality, whether it’s the tilt of a head or the shape of a tail.
All pieces are printed in-house using my Bambu Lab P1S. For the models, I typically use Marble PLA for a clean, sculptural look, but I am always experimenting with new filaments and print settings to get the best results.
Not Just Dog Statues
Although most of my early work focused on whippets and other sighthounds, I’m not limited to dog breed sculptures. I also create custom models based on client ideas, including decorative pieces, display items, and branded objects for small businesses.
Supporting Local
I live and work in Oshawa, Ontario, and I’m always open to connecting with local businesses. If you need help with display items, custom signage, branded keychains, or something completely unique, I’d be happy to collaborate.
